From Vejprty, you’ll set off through the forest past Černý Potok to the Přísečnice Reservoir, where you’ll be enchanted by the tranquil waters surrounded by deep forests. Just a short distance above the reservoir, you can take a break at Karl’s Spring, fill up on delicious cold water, and relax at the hiking rest area. From there, continue on to Měděnec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you definitely shouldn’t miss the hike up to the summit of Mědník itself, with its iconic chapel and panoramic views. From Měděnec, your route will continue to nearby Kovářská and from there through the forest back to Vejprty.

Along the way, you’ll find plenty of great places to grab a bite—you can enjoy delicious food, coffee, and something sweet right in Měděnec or in Kovářská (Cukrkavárna), where we also recommend a short detour to the unique historic limestone quarry.

Additional info: You can easily reach the starting point in Vejprty from Chomutov by taking the Vejprtská horská dráha train (tourist line T7). It runs on weekends and holidays from late March through late October and easily transports bicycles, so you can leave your car at home.
