The historic town of Cheb is the official endpoint of the entire 242-kilometer-long Krušnohorská Magistrála. After passing by the Skalka Reservoir, Cycle Route No. 23 takes you along flat, paved roads straight to the very center, where the route ends seamlessly and connects to the international Eger Cycle Route (No. 6). The main attractions to explore are the picturesque King George of Poděbrady Square, with its unique row of medieval merchant houses, and the majestic Cheb Castle, which is the only preserved imperial palace in the Czech Republic. The city is perfectly suited for cyclists. You can safely lock your bikes to racks monitored by the city’s CCTV system right by the castle gate, or use the secure racks at the information center or outside the outdoor seating areas of local cafés, where you can properly celebrate successfully completing the entire route.
