Skalka Reservoir

1557

This picturesque reservoir, built on the Eger river in the 1960s, lines the final kilometres of the entire Ore Mountains Trail. The dam provides flood protection and recreation and is surrounded by wooded slopes and holiday cottages. Cycle route no. 23 follows the northern shore of the reservoir on a paved, car-free path. The route offers plenty of viewpoints over the water right from the saddle. There is no need to lock up or leave your bike anywhere – just pull over safely at the edge of the path on the shore, snap a photo and carry on along the flat towards the town.
