Blacksmith's Shop and Historic Lime Kiln

1557

The historic coal-fired lime kiln in Háj u Kovářské is a unique 19th-century industrial monument; its two massive stone shaft kilns, built from crushed limestone, resemble the mysterious ruins of a medieval castle hidden in the forest. The lime kiln is located directly on Bike Trail No. 23 between Přísečnice and Měděnec, and its grounds are open to the public. The site now features a rest area for cyclists, where you can safely lean your bikes against wooden racks next to the information boards and explore the stone towers up close.
