Near Měděnec lies Mědník Hill, with a Baroque chapel at its summit. It is a key part of the Erzgebirge mining region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the entire hill is crisscrossed by historic silver mining tunnels. Highway No. 23 runs directly below the hill through the village of Měděnec, but the path to the summit and the chapel is impassable for bicycles due to the steep, rocky trail. Therefore, you must lock your bikes at the base of the hill near the Měděnec Information Center—where you can buy tickets to the St. Mary Help of Christians Adit—or near the Mědník restaurant, and walk up for about 5 minutes.
